Some encounters last only a day but leave memories that last a lifetime. That was the experience shared by the Serviestiba volunteer team and Dianis Samaniego—a young girl supported by the *Fundación Amigos del Niño con Leucemia y Cáncer* (FANLYC)—as part of the lead-up to the 2026 "Relay for Life" (*Relevo por la Vida*). This year, the event carries the powerful theme "I Am Here" (*Estoy Aquí*) and will take place on September 5 and 6.
Upon arriving at the Serviestiba facilities at the Port of Balboa, Dianis and her mother were enthusiastically welcomed by the company's employees. During the tour, they visited various departments and met with the teams, accompanied by Serviestiba CEO Raúl Rodríguez, as well as managers, supervisors, and staff members. Yet, the visit was far more than just a tour of our facilities; it was an opportunity to connect, share smiles, and create special moments.
As part of the day's activities, various departments prepared gifts for Dianis. The schedule also included a photo and makeup session, lunch with the volunteers, and an afternoon of painting—all set against an atmosphere of joy, warmth, and solidarity. For Serviestiba, supporting initiatives like "Relay for Life" means much more than simply participating in an event. It means being present, offering support, and demonstrating that behind every organization are people ready to lend a hand and contribute to a cause that transforms lives.
Because when we say "I Am Here," it is not merely a slogan. It is a way of saying: count on me, you are not alone, and together we can make a difference. We thank our volunteers for making this day possible, Dianis and her mother for allowing us to share this special occasion, and our friends at FANLYC for continuing to create spaces where solidarity turns into hope.
